Rust Convertor Properties
- Operating temperature: max. 80°C, peak at 150°C
- Dry without dust approximately 30 minutes
- Recoverable after approximately 5 hours (indicative values depending on temperature, coated thickness, humidity)
- Vapor pressure at 20°C: 4 bar
- pH value: 4 -4.5
- Spray flow: 0.8 gr/sec
Composition of the Rust Convertor
Binders: Mixture of polyvinyl butyral, resins & solvents.
Without heavy metals or mineral acids.
Color: Clear brown liquid, turns dark blue/black on the metal after drying.
Propellant gas: Dimethyl ether.
Precautions for use
- Shake well before use.
- Remove paint and rust residue with a wire brush or sander. The surface must be clean, dry and grease-free. When using outdoors, remove any moss or algae deposits. Cover the surrounding areas.
- Spray at a distance of 25 cm from the support.
- Apply several thin layers (+/- 4 layers).
- Between the different layers, allow a drying time of approximately 20 minutes.
- When the last layer is completely dry, It is recommended to sand it to improve adhesion.
